April 26, 2023Webinar zoom on April 26 at 12:00pm ET Categorized as: WebinarGit/Rebase Session April 26, Wed Noon ET Where Did My GLV Go? Using Git Sync and Rebase with PowerBuilder 2022 The one-click Get Latest Version (GLV) does not exist in Git Source Code Control(SCC) systems in the same form as it has in the past for PowerBuilder when using the Microsoft Source Code Control Interface (MSSCCI) API. The nature of Git is intrinsically distributed. How do we best periodically refresh our local copy of the PowerBuilder Workspace to determine if our individual efforts will integrate well with our fellow development team members' modifications? In this session we’ll demonstrate how to use the Git Repository Rebase method to: • Update your Workspace with other development team members' changes • Completely avoid the much-dreaded server side, remote repository Merge Conflict • Gracefully side-step local Merge Conflicts and avoid the need for conflict resolution We will also demonstrate PowerBuilder 2022's new ability to generate local PBLs from Git-remote Source Files (*.SR*), which negates the need for PBLs to be in SCC

March 14, 2023 12:30 pm until 2:00 pmWe'll look at precisely what happens when Sybase ASE issues a database read or write. We'll follow it through database cache, ASE device queues, O/S filesystems, O/S device queues, disk and network controllers, VM hyperscalar queues, physical hardware queues, multipathing, all the way to the storage array. At each step, we'll highlight the performance stats and tuning options available at that level, touch on the architectural decisions and constraints, and list references to where to go for further information. This is a case study of actual work with real consequences. This 90 minute session will let us go down the rabbit hole and get into the technical weeds. Speaker bio: Joe Woodhouse was a Technical Evangelist at Sybase pre-acquisition before founding Prima Donna Consulting. First redefining expectations for a Sybase database engineer, he stayed deep and went wide. He sees himself as someone who saves projects, budgets, and teams. This means he does more than solve problems: he figures out puzzles, uncovers secrets, unravels mysteries, and brings order out of chaos. As a result, projects are unblocked, budgets are increased, teams exceed their targets - and people keep their jobs. See you on Mar 14, 2023 11:30 AM Central Time (US and Canada)
